The Institute of Patentees & Inventors Ventures North! - David Wardell

The Institute of Patentees & Inventors (of which I am a Director) is the UK's oldest inventor organisation - our centenary is only a few years away - and is set to achieve a long held goal. For many years, members have bemoaned the fact that IPI is a bit London-centric. Most of our meetings, and indeed our annual 'bash', are held in the capital.

This is all set to change with the opening of a new office in Salford (Nr. Manchester). This new branch of the IPI will ceremonially

launch at 5.30pm on Tuesday, 24th October at the 'Egg Room' of Salford University.

The new branch will be run by Keith and Joan Pickford, both IPI Members and Alumni of Salford University. The opportunity for this branch to open is made possible by a partnership between the Institute and Salford University. Martin Hall, Vice Chancellor, said: "We plan to bring together inventors from across the North to share ideas and to provide support in navigating the jungles of intellectual property rights, patent registrations and the challenges of taking a new invention on to proof of concept and eventual commercialisation."

If you are an IPI member, or budding inventor, and would like to attend the launch, please contact IPI President, Mark Sheahan, on +44 (0)208 692 8455 or by email: mark@squeezeopen.com
