Cathy Jackson

JACKSON, Cathy, British. In 1998 the Design Council selected her combined self-retracting needle and syringe as a Millennium Product. Needle safety, before and after use, is a matter of concern in hospitals and medical labs. Cathy’s design of a syringe and needle combination for injections and blood sampling introduces new concepts of needle usage and disposal. She calls the product the Zero-StikE Safety Syringe. After use the needle retracts into inside the syringe where it can do no harm.
